Meet Bitty

Bitty is a small bug-like creature on two stilt like legs with small eyes on top of a sphere like head and antennae.

Meet Bitty!

Inevitably when we have shown friends and family our site we get asked, “What is that little creature sitting in the chair?”  So, we thought we would formally introduce you to our mascot, Bitty.

Bitty’s name was inspired from the term bit.  In case you don’t want to read the whole Wikipedia article, I asked David to sum it up in one sentence.  He said, “A bit is the smallest unit of information that a computer understands.”  There you go.  Told you we loved technology around here.

Bitty’s role over at Big Green Chair will be the help desk.  Currently he’s hard at work on tutorials,  trying to guss what questions might be frequently asked, and little help icons to make the website more user friendly.  In addition he is helping David with the  projects page and ghost writing a series of blog posts focused on learning to program – How To Be a Coder.  You can read binary and html, right?

Once he’s finished with all the grunt work we’re going to let him loose to play a bit.  He will have some fun activities for the kiddos, too. Sign up for our free newsletter in the sidebar if you want to see more of Bitty. Watch out, though, he loves to play hide and seek – you never know where he may pop up!
