Build a Crossbow from Legos

Our boys love LEGOs.  They are usually at the top of their lists for birthday or Christmas presents.  Our boys also love weapons and artillery – especially if they can build them out of LEGOs. So I wasn’t all that surprised a few years ago when my oldest son, Jonathan, decided to build a LEGO crossbow that shot LEGO bolts. When he finished tweaking his design I helped him set up the tripod, camera, and lights so that he could shoot a stop motion animation of his build. It was a pretty complicated shoot and it didn’t really work as a stop motion. So the project has just been hanging around in the files.

I decided that I would release it as a slide show which is more helpful for a tutorial anyway. It’s a pretty long and complicated build so we split it into two slideshows.

DISCLAIMER: We are not responsible for irresponsibility — this crossbow shoots HARD.  Please treat it respectfully and be careful.
